Incident Management Template

Incident Management Process Map

The Incident Management Process Map is organized into seven areas:

1.     Building and maintaining the program

2.     Program structural components

3.     Notification tool implementation

4.     Incident management process flow

5.     Life/Safety process flow

6.     Damage assessment preparation

7.     Damage assessment tasks

The Incident Management Process Map was created to document how an organization creates and implements an effective incident management program. The process includes components for building and maintaining an overall program as well as specific process maps for responding to actual incidents.  Numerous sample documents are included to assist the user in creating policies, training materials and other support documents. If you would like one of the consultants from Continuity Flow to assist you in implementing an incident Management program in your organization please contact us.

Building and Maintaining the Program: This process map outlines the steps for implementing an effective program.  This includes recruiting personnel, developing policies, obtaining management approval and training staff.  The process map includes duration and is designed to be executed as a project.

Program Structural Components: This process map defines the components of the program and includes sample documents for each component.  These components and documents can be combined to create a formal policy document.

Notification Tool Implementation: This process map outlines the steps required to define notification tool requirements and implement an appropriate tool.  Notifying team members and employees is critical to facilitate a successful response to any incident that may impact your company.  Supporting documents include a sample requirements doc, RFP and evaluation matrix.

Incident Management Process Flow: This flow includes the actual tasks to be executed to effectively respond to any incident that may impact your company.   The documents created in the Building and Maintaining  process map can be referenced in this flow to provide guidance.  Additional suggested documents are also outlined in the process flow.

Life/Safety Process Flow: The Life/Safety process flow is executed as a sub-process to the Incident Management flow.  Protecting employees is the number one objective in all incident management processes.  Once Life/Safety is addressed, other incident management processes can be initiated.

Damage Assessment Preparation: This process flow is also executed as a sub-process to the Incident Management flow and outlines the tasks required to prepare for the damage assessment process.  Teams must be fully briefed on the process and have the necessary safety and assessment tools in order to effectively assess the damage.

Damage Assessment Flow: This process executes after the Damage Assessment Preparation tasks are complete and includes the tasks and related forms to assess and report the damage and expected time to repair.
